Dose Rate
Does anyone have experience working with secondary care infusion prescriptions? I'm particularly interested in why Dose Rate (e.g. mg/min) is not considered a standard unit for infusion prescribing, as opposed to infusion rate (e.g. ml/min).

Good question… never thought of that before. Because we currently prescribe doses in Milligrams as the unit of measure for infusions.
Generally speaking for infusions on our EPR, we just prescribe the dose. We don’t typically add a rate unless it needs to be specified.
I’ll have a think about this one!
